The whole thing smelt fishy……

What difference does it make at this point?

The question remains; why is there no water for fire fighting in an area prone to serious fires?

Anyone who has driven between the San Joaquin Valley and the San Fernando Valley in northern Los Angeles across what is called the "Grapevine" has seen the massive aqueduct pipes and pumps that move water south to Los Angeles along Interstate 5. The real cause of the water shortages appears to be deliberate power outages by the power company in order to reduce risk of electrical fires. Having lives in northern San Diego during a 24 hour power outage I can attest to the fact that within 12-16 hours the water in the public water system stops flowing due to lack of pressure from water towers that are filled by electric pumps. This is a much more logical explanation than a lack of reservoir water, simply that the pressure in the system cannot be maintained without electricity. During Gov. Schwarzenegger's time a study was done that showed that 21% of all the energy used in California was consumed by pumping water (a large part of that came from diesel powered pumps in remote areas where there is no electric grid to run the massive pumps).

So then who tells the LAFD there won't be any water in the hydrant because the power is off?

I was just reading a piece in the WSJ that mentioned a major reservoir (sorry, I don't remember the name) that was 0% full. It was empty because undergoing maintenance -- which seems incredibly badly timed.

When you're done looking at that look up perifial aqueduct. Just so they can get more Nothern California Water. BTW more than halfof the water in Lake Oroville "belongs" to LA.

Check Google Maps for O'Neill Forebay. There are two California Central Valley canals. The Delta Mendota canal is operated by USBR to irrigate the Central Valley. The two canals mix water at O'Neill Forbay.

Wait. That's your proof that Trump pulls his comments out of his behind. That Gov. Newsom didn't know what Trump was talking about!? !Did you ever consider that maybe that is proof that it's Newsom that is the clown.

Your post reads as if there is no water issue in California that need concern citizens because the state and local governments have got it covered like a blanket. That Trump is rambling on about problems that Newsom and his cohort took care of long ago.

You are correct that it is a natural process that is fundamental to the nature of California. But Newsom has promised that the billions that he spends in remediation of those natural processes have solved the problem. But there is no water in the hydrants. That is not normal nor should you try to make it seem normal. It could have been prevented. It wasn't.
