They are frustrated, needy, and lonely. They are in the grip of nihilism and wounded, narcissistically. They are spiritual seekers and creative failures. They have both a strong need to feel special, and powerful, but also to lose themselves in the group. They are people who desperately want to get away from having to deal with themselves and the confrontation with inner demons required for personal growth.
-Michael Shellenberger in The Quiet Desperation Of Woke Fanatics
Props to Will Allen-DuPraw with News2Share for uploading a better video than the one provided by the Washington Post. (In WaPoop’s defense, a clip this long is likely impossible to upload to Twitter anyways.)
The whole thing is really worth a watch!
The two vandals are apparently Timothy Martin and Joanna Oltman.
Some highlights missing from the WaPoop video include the following. Because, oh boy, they are important.
Martin pleas, “For our children, we are worried like most Americans about climate and about the biodiversity crisis.”
Continuing, he extends the circle, “This is all of our children folks, especially the Global South we’re living that the expense of.” Oltman takes over interrupting with “the most vulnerable,” she then motions up to the sculpture, “that’s why we decided to come visit this beautiful beloved child that the world knows. She had sisters all over the world.“
The two are eventually handcuffed although its easy to tell the law enforcement officers know they are being watched and are extremely cautious with their use of force.
The protesters know this too.
Then Martin’s facial expression throughout much of this part of the event is one of him trying to act one part purely pathetic, another part victim.
This is a performance. These individuals were trained to be actors.
This is straight out of the activist training materials in Beautiful Trouble.
“Anyone can act” is one of their many principles as well as “play to an audience that isn’t there.” In the case of the latter, by the time museum employees and law enforcement arrived, most other visitors were either shielded from viewing the protesters directly or were completely removed from the gallery. The real audience is us, watching these videos, whether they’re the clipped and edited version published by the Washington Post or this fuller version from Will Allen-DuPraw.
Eventually he stops the performative limp nonsense and is escorted out of the gallery saying “this is for your children too” and eventually as he’s cuffed, “oh, you’re a real police officer thank you!” As he’s escorted away from sculpture, he shows a small, inauthentic smile and exclaims, “we’re just doing this for our children. Thank you!”
Oltman resists a bit more, mostly with words demanding, “well I’m asking what your authority is.” The bald man handcuffing her explains that he’s a police officer. She’s then seen conversing with a gentleman with long hair, goatee, and a plaid shirt with jeans. Their discussion seems cordial and friendly.
The last thing she says as she’s escorted away is of course directly to the camera, “thank you for being here, thank you for listening, yeah take climate action now. Please take climate action now to protect the children of the world and for future generations.”
Just what is their damned obsession with children anyways?
The two are pedos.
No, not that kind.
Not the kind that is that sick degenerates like Noah Berlatsky have demanded to “normalize”
They’re pedophrasts.
Nassim Taleb coined a term for this type of tactic which he calls a scam, we call it a Woke/Cluster B abuse tactic: pedophrasty
Which he defines as:
Argument involving children to prop up a rationalization and make the opponent look like an asshole, as people are defenseless and suspend all skepticism in front of suffering children: nobody has the heart to question the authenticity or source of the reporting.
Instead of actual children, these performative narcissists, use a proxy: a sculpture.
We argue that it’s completely normal to want to “tHiNk oF tHe ChIlDrEn,” yet climate and woke activists especially, ironically many being anti-human, aren’t special in evoking this natural instinct.
Taleb continues:
Pedophrasts prey on our maternal (and paternal) instincts.
Pedophrasty has its most effects on actors, journalists and similar types who are intellectually insecure, deprived of critical judgment, and afraid of being classified as violators of some norm of political correctness.
Martin and Oltman were also apparently arrested while a third was detained briefly and then released with a stipulation that he never visit the museum again. Is it possible that man with the long hair, goatee, and plaid shirt is the third individual?
The three are with the climate crisis activist group Declare Emergency.
“We have a duty to act,” they exclaim in large font on their website.
On their FAQ they have a question specifically related to arrest and jail.
So yes, fun fact, if you watched this footage and got excited that these goons were arrested, as many reasonable people would argue they deserved, then you’ve fallen for their own trap.
They wanted to be arrested.
They wanted a real law enforcement officer to do the arrest, and not a security guard or some other person to stage an arrest. This is why both wanted confirmation they were actually being handcuffed by a real law enforcement agent.
They also want to be detained in jail.
That’s another Beautiful Trouble tactic: “jail solidarity.”
The guide states:
Jail solidarity is a tactic for putting pressure on authorities after activists are arrested. By pushing for activists’ release, or, failing that, for decent treatment and protection from psychological and physical abuse, it seeks to create a strong community of resistance, based on mutual support and unity of purpose, that can act against harassment, false accusations, selective prosecutions, strategies of isolation and victimization, and other forms of persecution.
Declare Emergency’s landing page is filled with apocalyptic doomsday narcissistic cult nonsense- typical of this crowd and includes the out of touch and disastrous idea that “we” should immediately end the use of fossil fuels.
On a scary blood-red background with contrasting white text, it states:
Billions of people will starve to death in the coming decades, as elites fill our atmospheric “gas chamber” with fossil fuels for power and profit. Our food systems will break down. Billions will be forced out of their homes and countries. This means war, starvation, slaughter, and rape on a global scale. And the collapse is coming here, too.
The science is clear: the use of fossil fuels must end, immediately, if we hope to survive. Instead of leading the transition, our government gambles our future on unproven technologies and hopeful thinking… while quietly continuing to fund and faciliate the fossil fuel death project.
This is genocidal. This is criminal. This is insane.
We come together and offer resolute non-violent resistance to the fossil fuel madness of the present moment. We still have two to three years in which we can avert the worst consequences of the climate catastrophe.
Their primary demand is simple, yet laughable:
We demand that President Biden hold a press conference, declare a formal state of climate emergency and begin make full use of his executive authority to save this country from collapse.
That is also presumably where the Washington Post got the idea in their puff piece yet did not mention the protestor’s organization or said organization’s demand.
Seriously, go back and re-read it.
As typical with woke narcissism led movements, there’s always more to the story and their demands are loaded with heaps of hypocrisy. On a Google Doc where they define their strategy and vision for those who choose to join their group they state:
Our Vision: A Rapid and Fair Transition for Everyone
Let the people decide: in citizens assemblies where everyone is represented and marginalized communities are
No one left behind: no more pushing the cost of the transition onto people of color and those who have been marginalized and oppressed. The rich and powerful have to pay their fair share.
Stop killing the poor: living off the backs of those in the global south has to stop. It’s been going on far too long – hundreds of years. Cancel the debts and compensate for the damage we have caused.
A functioning deliberative democracy. All human rights must be protected. Put an end to authoritarianism.
Land back: indigenous communities know how to take care of the earth on which we depend. We must respect the treaties – which America has never done – and quit robbing them of the ability to steward their own land.
GLF has watched dozens of movements over the years use the correct words and platitudes to make the target audience of these movements feel all good inside. Being based in the heart of Coastal Elitism (cough, California, cough) we’ve also watched countless useful idiots go along with these scams along with de-civilizing this great state while ironically making things worse on nearly every level for the people they claim to want to save or protect. It’s also been big in other parts of the West Coast, the East Coast, and as has noted also to the Mountain West. These movements also provided cover for the criminal Kirchners (aka the Newsom/Pelosis of the South) in Argentina, as notes. Neighboring Chile has seen a great de-civilization too but was narrowly partially saved from complete decline when voters rejected the new constitution last year.
On their Instagram page, they propagandized the art museum event as “disrupted business as usual,” as “several concerned citizens” smeared black paint - meant to portray oil, and red paint - meant to portray blood - on the plexiglass enclosure of the sculpture.
Are you sure these are just “several concern citizens?”
The post also identifies a different name for the woman from Brooklyn and choice quotes that were not in the video. She very well could have made this statement, but it may have not been captured on video.
There’s even more symbolism behind the act as the sculpture is meant to portray a young girl - a child- who is ironically surrounded by as they say, “a climate controlled box.”
In other words, the fact the sculpture was of a child and she was encased in the protective enclosure was part of their whole stunt.
The use of symbolism here is well done. Credit’s due where credit is due. Saul Alinsky, author of Rules for Radicals, a popular book used by mostly left-leaning community activists, would be proud of the use of such symbolism too.
Their organization is not present on ProPublica’s Non-Profit explorer so it’s unknown if they’re just background noise at this moment or they’re powered by as
coins “the anti-industry industry” and the “NGO-corporate-industrial-climate complex.” It doesn’t take big money though, as noted in the ideological capture of the bicycling advocacy domain to make a large impact. With all that, let’s get into the other event Declare Emergency’s goons engaged in this week: Blocking traffic on a major DC-area motorway.
That’s also on their FAQ page.
Because nothing gets the average person to join the climate crisis cult more than them being late to work or to other normal people obligations because some spoiled pedophrasts felt they could hop out on a major road and block traffic.
The video, also from News2Share’s Will Allen-DuPraw is below.
And call it divine or a pure coincidence that the first vehicles in the long queue of stopped cars happen to both be Teslas. It’s difficult to tell if they are occupied by motorists or if they belong to the protesters themselves.
Again with some highlights:
Thirty seconds into the video a bearded older man is shown explaining something about a 1.5 degree C change is an invitation to apocalypse. Typical debunked climate cult nonsense, but then a woman’s voice is heard in the background.
At first she’s difficult to hear but then the cameraperson turns left to reveal it’s a black woman standing in the number one lane between one of the Teslas and the line of protesters. Passing motor vehicles in the other direction do make some of her statements difficult to hear.
“Are you serious? I start a new job today. I’ve been unemployed since April. I have an interview today. Are you serious? That’s not fair because of how you feel about it. This the wrong way to go about it. The wrong way. [Inaudible] ridiculous.
Ya’ll, this is the wrong way to go about it. The wrong way. You guys are wrong. It’s [inaudible] If I miss this interview, what’s going to happen to my family?
Ya’ll don’t care, do you?
I know you don’t.
You just shook your head, no you don’t.”
Shortly after a black male and female also approach the front of the queue. They’re both clearly distressed and upset at the protesters but their speech is next to impossible to make out over the noise of the passing traffic. Clearly audible is the last thing the man says before the both walk away, “what the fuck.”
Shortly after, one of the protesters makes a statement:
“By approving new oil and gas licenses is condeming my children’s future to one that is not livable and I can’t sit back and watch that happen, so I have to take action. And that’s why I support the Declare Emergency campaign.”
After this is a third, you guessed it, black woman who was also distressed speaking with someone on her mobile phone. As she also walked away from protesters, defeated, shouting another, yes, black woman approaching the protesters asked what was going on and whether someone was calling the police.
She then calls the police, and explains what is happening. (If you’re a Noble Wokie and surprised by such an action then turn off the damned NPR and/or put down the NYTimes/WaPoop/SFChronicle/LATimes/Don Lemon, etc and read this excellent reporting from and )
The video then zooms back to one of the protesters.
“It’s amazing that we’re out here like this. It needs to be done. It’s too much past time, man. [Inaudible] something now. This is getting people’s attention. Climate change is serious.”
The next protester in the line then said, “Well I just want to say, uh, we sympathize with the people who we’re blocking this morning. We’re regular human beings just like them. Understand the [inaudible] stuck in traffic.”
The video then flips back to, surprise, another black, this time man. He’s also pleading for these assholes to move. “I have patience, I got to get to where I’m going. Do you all mind? [Inaudible] lane over there.” It sounds as if later he’s asking them to at least move off the road’s shoulder so that motorists can use that area to pass by. He then asks in frustration, “What is the Willow Project anyways?”
In some scenes one and others, two of the protesters is holding a sign that says, “No Willow Project.” Hilariously one of them is initially holding the sign upside down.
This is of course referring to the Alaskan oil drilling project recently approved by the Biden administration that’s caused quite the storm among radical greens since they learned their Noble Hero, a grotesque hypocrite much like themselves let them down.
One of the protesters responds to the gentleman indicating so and another hands him what appears to be a piece of papers with a QR code. “And we’re protesting this in Virginia,” he questions. “Joe Biden just approved that? Interesting. So, so now we’re gonna allow everybody here to have to experience a little pain.”
This gentleman’s audio is diminished by a young black gentleman wearing glasses and a white button down collared shirt, expressing the fact he’s going to be late for his nine o-clock class. He also notes that the protesters are “doing nothing but furthering emissions.”
The police are then seen in the opposing lanes but the first man says, “[inaudible] I mean really, well whatever it is you’re all trying to do and trying to artistically trying to get, I hope it works out for you.”
Shortly after, several police cruisers arrive having straddled between the two lanes. Motorists moved both left and right to allow them this space. A US Park Police officer exits the first car, approaches the group and asks who the organizer is. Someone states they all are the organizers. Someone admits to being a primary liaison. The officer tries to plea with the protesters asking that they at a bare minimum open one lane saying, “Are you guys going to be willing to get out of the roadway? Can we at least arrange to get one lane of traffic through here? We got people trying to get to work and stuff.”
He then asks each individual protester if they’re willing to move out of the roadway. He invokes stronger language too, “even if I give you a lawful order,” he asks.
They all refuse.
“I just want all of you to know that this could result in your arrest”
Nearly all the protesters verbally acknowledge as the officer asks them again individually.
Then he and the liaison, speak on the shoulder of the road. He asks her what their goal is. She’s hard to hear due to her quiet voice but it’s partially audible she’s said that Biden needs to declare a climate emergency and “stop the climate catastrophe from happening.”
He’s not impressed, “Ok, so right now you’re blocking a roadway on National Park Service property. People use this roadway to get to work, they use the roadway to get to the airport, to get to hospitals. Is there any way we can move people out of the roadway here, at least get some traffic going and then we can have a discussion and see if there’s a better way that we can do this.”
“I will ask them,” replies the liaison.
She asks each person. All say, “no.”
Again, this is a show. It’s a performance.
The officer goes back to pleading with the protesters on the road, “I mean unfortunately right now you guys are putting a lot of good people to where they’re trying to get going. You could cost people their jobs… if somebody behind us is on their way to the hospital…it could result in something catistrpohic like that. I mean I’m willing to sit here, and we can try and get whover you guys want to talk to over here but the problem is is that you’re blocking the roadway right now.”
“I understand,” one replies.
“You’re still not willing to move? Okay.”
As he walks away, one of them shouts they want President Biden to speak with them. The officer replies that he doesn’t have that ability.
One of the old men slowly says, “well officer, it’s you know a matter of immediacy, we’re doing this for climate change. We have to stop.”
Back to the liaison on the side of the road, the officer mentions that it’s counterproductive as all the stopped traffic is emitting carbon and he warns her , “they’re going to end up being arrested.” He pleas once again to get traffic moving in at least one lane and then they can continue discussions.
When she repeats that they’ve told her they won’t move, he interrupts, “ma’am, they’re adults, this is what’s going to happen, they’re gonna [inaudible] let them know they’re gonna leave the road or they’re going to be arrested.”
She inquires about three warnings. No joke.
The officer retreats to talk with two other officers. It’s impossible to tell what is being said. Meanwhile in the protest line three remain, blocking both traffic lanes. They’re asked by a protester in the road shoulder if they’re all okay. One of them swaps signs with the protester in the number one lane.
The childishness continues. The officer returns and asks the protesters their names. Their responses are inaudible. He then returns to the liaison, “they want me to ask you if it’s okay if they give me their names.”
Likely part of the training, but also performative narcissistic childish bullshit.
The liaison asks another member on the side of the road, “uh, names should be fine.”
He then speaks to the drivers of the two Teslas but the audio is impossible to understand.
That’s all in roughly half of the 26 minute video.
They’re eventually approached by a third law enforcement officer, this time in a different uniform that they could face a Class I misdemeanor with either a $2500.00 fine or 12 months of prison per Virginia law. “Just so you’re aware”
One of the protestors thanks him and as he turns around to walk away, he says, “your welcome.”
Finally about 21 minutes in, the three remaining protesters are handcuffed and arrested.
One of the detained men is asked if he has anything else to say, “Peace, ban automatic weapons, declare emergency now.”
Call us skeptical, but there’s no way WaPoop’s reporter on the event in the museum, Ellie Silverman, wasn’t aware of this blocking traffic event.
She’s not only a local to the Washington DC area but her “beat” is specifically covering “protests, activism, and local news” for the paper per her Twitter profile.
She also later revised her original article to add context about Declare Emergency. Nowhere did this Silverman indicate she’d added new material.
This is again an activist, not a legitimate journalist.
Non-violent action is a staple of grassroots community activism movements. It was immensely effective during the Civil Rights era in the United States. Declare Emergency knows this too and channels it directly, writing on their website, “Disciplined, protracted nonviolent civil disobedience can create system-level change. Martin Luther King and Gandhi showed us the way.”
If someone in that art museum or the roadway gets escalates the situation or even appears to escalate the situation whether it be real or perceived through camera angles or editing, then it’s game over. Recall the Corporate Press too will pick and choose what to show their audience. Looking at you, WaPoop!
This sets up a trap, a typical abuse tactic used by the Woke.
Are you opposed to our methods? Then you must be opposed to civil rights, etc.
Opposed to “anti-racism” a-la Ibram X Kendi or Robin DiAngelo (something normal people recognize as racist in and of it self?)? Sorry. You’re against “anti-racism,” meaning you’re for racism.
These folks, like most of the Woke insist they’re “on the right side of history” making a parallel march into progress with these modern movements.
The truth in all reality is they’re fraudulent LARPers who are often atrociously sexist, racist, and nearly any other *ist. Funny thing is, these dorks aren’t the modern equivalent of the Civil Rights movement. The legitimate players in the Civil Rights movement didn’t use bigotry to fight bigotry -they sure as hell didn’t keep a half dozen of the people they claim to be fighting for from going to work or school.
Another startling difference between modern climate (and the greater “woke” movement) and the Civil Rights era is these individuals act and wish to be treated like children and their tactics are a reversal from the past Civil Rights movements.
Shellenberger notices this too, writing:
Where protesters in the past asked to be treated like adults, climate protesters today demand to be treated like children. Civil rights activists in the 1950s sat at lunch counters and demanded to be treated like full adults. Notably, it was racist counterprotesters who poured milkshakes over them. Today, it’s the protesters who are spilling milk and throwing food.
-Michael Shellenberger in Infantilization Of The Apocalypse
These people play a double role too, they act like children and need things negotiated for them with a third party as if they were children BUT they claim they fight for children.
Shellenberger continues:
One possible reason that climate activists have started engaging in childish behavior is that doing so is a low-cost way of attracting public attention. It is shocking to dump milk onto the floor of a supermarket, huck food at a revered painting, and spray paint over a luxury car dealership. It grabs our attention. And the activists correctly predicted that their actions would be celebrated by global elites, including the Secretary General of the United Nations, and everyone from The Guardian to The New York Times.
The Guardian? (rolls eyes) Who is that?
noticed the infantilization too, writing more broadly, emphasis the Green Chicken’s, not ours. While children can be excused for believing in physics-defying fantasies, there are legions of grown adults who bathe in similar delusions when it comes to energy policy. Specifically, there is a widespread belief among many otherwise rational people that humanity no longer needs fossil fuels, that we can stop relying on them soon without meaningful consequences to our way of life, and that our refusal to do so is a mere political choice. Given the intensity with which such dogmas are held, it is understandable that politicians have played along, assuring these intellectual adolescents that Rudolph’s nose is indeed shiny and red. Some might even say it glows.
In the first video, linked at the top of this piece, note the number of bystanders also taking video. Every second of these protests from multiple angles are likely obtained. The violent group Antifa do similar things but often try to keep non-members from filming.
They’re waiting for one “opponent” to step put of line and get even a little violent. Whether that’s an irritated motorist who chooses to wield his or her vehicle as a weapon running someone over, a counter-protestor engaging in physical violence , or a law enforcement officer getting too aggressive with crowd control or an arrest, the moment one of more of these individuals screws up, it’s game over: Declare Emergency will have a real victim and a martyr.
Shellenberger too quotes Sam Vaknin, a psychologist whose an expert on narcissism:
“The infiltration of narcissists and psychopaths is universal in all these victimhood movements and they become the public face of the movement. It’s very dangerous because if you are a perennial victim and this is your identity, you would tend to develop attendant behaviors, for example, you would feel entitled to special treatment and if you don’t get this special treatment you will become aggressive.”
In other words, Victimhood is a currency in Woke Ideology and narcissism and Cluster B are its fuel.
But this could also fire back on them - especially if they choose to block more roads, cause permanent property damage or if one of them breaks away from their role and throws the first act of physical violence. And who knows what would happen if emergency vehicles such as an ambulance or fire engine was prevented from saving someone’s life or property?
Or perhaps normal people will see how in that video, every single motorist, trying to get somewhere was black and likely very working class, contradicting the whole woke scam that these activists care for and advocate for such individuals.
Oh, lastly, see any of the same faces in both groups?
“All human rights must be protected. Put an end to authoritarianism.”
They do not recognize the irony.
Very detailed and informative. Certainly nothing we will see in the woke media. This Climate Hoax activist BS is deeply troubling. By the way, just finished The White Pill. Great book recommendation.
