Happy Earth Day, whatever that even means these days!
Dr. William Ripple wanted to pass down some of his own wisdom.
defines luxury beliefs as “ideas and opinions that confer status on the upper class at very little cost, while often inflicting costs on the lower classes.” His memoir, where the concept is discussed in depth was reviewed earlier here. If there’s an example of a luxury belief gone wild, it’s this.Dr. Ripple, a professor of ecology at Oregon State University, who took in a whopping $163,000 salary thanks to that state’s taxpayers, is certainly bathing in more than just luxury beliefs.
I've always thought it would be fun to watch guys like Ripple survive in a non-industrial world. He'd last a couple of days at best.
To quote our good friend Doomberg as it relates to the good doctor, "you first."
