The public roadway network is intended for the movement of people, goods, and services. It is not a place for narcissistic petulant brats to sit down and block while actual Normal People have places to go.
“Please don't kill peaceful protesters for blocking your vehicle! You don't have to stay calm, but assault is illegal. Protesters don't like that they have to do this either. But they are desperate because nothing really worked the past 40 years.”
That’s what Lean Simons, apparently on the board of the Netherlands “chapter” of the Club of Rome, tweeted earlier today.
First of all, nobody was killed nor even injured in the video which in all reality is nothing short of a miracle. Simons is being overly hystrionic here.

Leon Simons seems like an all around piece of work. After this “hot take” is a series of tweets- all in response of a video of a trucker attempting to remove Climate Crisis Toddlers blocking a public right of way. Sadly the driver’s anger got the best of him and he’s apparently lost his license (likely his job) and will have to appear in front of a judge.
Keep in mind this is what the Climate Crisis Toddlers want. That is they want us the rest of us to lose our tempers and react violently.
Quetzal Thoughts, a fellow Twitter user and all around great poster said of the incident direcctly addressing Simons’ post, “Having dated two social justice activists this is just not true. Protestors live for the chaos and feeling of importance. You don't just block someone's path without a sense of narcissism or huge self-importance. It is what it is.”
He’s right of course.
They want to insist they really don’t want to be out there protesting.
They’re pretending to be Saviors but are really Persecutors.
When they do protests like this, they bring others into their Green Drama Triangle.
These are grotesque narcissists who want to be in the center of attention. They want the drama. They want to project their spiritual and moral defects onto the rest of civilization.
Simons was allegedly asked (this is likely not true) as to why he was not out there blocking traffic. He made a claim that his Noble Hero efforts can’t compete with this.
That video is of the floods that recently hit parts of Vermont - on the opposite side of the pond of ‘ol Simons and the video he originially tweeted.
Climate Crisis Toddlers can’t go more than a few hours after a natural disaster before inserting themselves and their hysteric cult into the narrative. It’s an example of kicking actual victims while they’re still down. These events are horrible and life changing.
People lose loved ones, their property, their sense of meaning. It’s genuine trauma.
Take Josh Slocum for example. His second home sustained signficant damage from these floods. It was currently being rented out to tenants who lost the majority of their own possessions too. Josh’s eventual plan was to move back into this house because his current housing situation has, as typical with “progressive” cities, became unaffordable. The tenants who rented Josh’s basement unit didn’t just wake up with a soggy floor - they had to be rescued by baskets hoisted by National Guard helicopters.
Because Josh took a stance against narcissists months earlier such as Simons, he ended up being canceled out of his job and has largely relied on his work here on Substack, his podcast Disaffected, and his savings to make ends meet. That’s made his move so to speak even more difficult.
He wrote about it and more here.
There’s also a GiveSendGo page setup by a friend of Josh. Josh vows to only use what he needs of the funds to rehab the place and replace some furniture for his tenants. Any remaining amount he will donate to other flood victims.
It’s one of likely thousands of attempts by good hearted people to try to make things right. That’s the opposite of what dingbats such as Simons are doing.
If any readers have some spare change, please consider sending it Josh’s way. If a donation to an individual isn’t one’s cup of tea then there are donation pages setup through a number of non-profits such as the Vermont Community Foundation, the Vermont Main Street Recover Fund , and of course the Red Cross.
Lastly if any readers are victims of this flood or any other natural disasters, please be aware of scammers who come in after the event. Both the United Way and the FTC have great sites that help people sniff out and avoid such scams.
"Protesters don't like that they have to do this either." This is their thing, those with a savior complex take the weight of the world on their shoulders and then complain they had to. BS. Thanks for the article. I saw that quote yesterday and rolled my eyes at it.
Good write-up. Thanks for making it public. Leon Simon... a piece of work that one. Seems the street protests have made their mark and so long as police refuse to enforce it (or Governments allow it with permits) then, as has been proven in the past, it will come to blows and the wrong people will suffer for it. Read somewhere a couple of eco-activist goofballs cemented their hands to the pavement and are now facing the loss of said appendages. I guess we'll be seeing less of that nonsense. It'll take something similar to stop the road blockades?
